I am passionate about technology, even as a child I was a Lego addict! At the moment I'm developing using coding Agents about 80% of my time. The harnesses being used are 'Codex', 'Devin' and 'Cursor'. Coding languages are mainly Python, Javascript, and Go for current projects.   • Development of Cisco network analytics platform (Provider Connectivity Assurance). The product is a big data real time ingestion platform, used to help telecomm providers manage their networks. The system uses a variety of databases, web, and micro services. Ranging from Python, Go, Javascript.
  • Lead Python developer for data ingestion pipeline using micro-service architecture on their Kubernetes cluster. Typically ingesting SNMP data for the platform.
  • Built FastAPI API Gateways for customer onboarding and telco grade data analytics. Celery Python microservices, plain Python microservices, and discrete Python multiprocessing data compression pipelines.

Web and IoT R&D Team Lead

Samsung Electronics (Contracting through NoisyAtom)

Dec 2017 - Jul 2021

  • Samsung team lead on a Consumer Electronics Price Predictor (CEPP). A Streamlit Python project using ML to predict prices of competitor devices over time in the UK market. The system used 'scrapy' to scrape and store competitor device prices, which allowed predictions over time.
  • Designed data schema, scheduling and sharding of CouchDB for the 'scraped' competitor data.
  • Worked on web frameworks and technologies for IoT devices, ranging from Python and JS web services.
  • Co-authored international patent filings for Edge Enabler Server Lifecycle Management GB 2001210.0 (currently: US 12,088,459 B2).
  • Researched IoT embedded device systems like Raspberry Pi, MicroPython, and Artik.

  • Led an 8-developer global team delivering the AlfaAesar eCommerce platform.
  • Based on a Django web stack, with PostgreSQL backend database.
  • Integrating Elasticsearch (Haystack) to provide near real time search for documents.
  • Built a python Celery worker queue to allow database backups from the PostgreSQL DB to the company DB2 system.

  • Led architecture and design for embedded next generation connected car product (m2m device, back-end data capture & aggregation) launched in Italy. An OBD-2 dongle that plugged into the car's CAN bus port.
  • Invented foundational M2M telecommunications routing patent US 9,407,575 B2 for encapsulated USSD/SMS gateway routing.
  • Team lead for Open Source development at Vodafone Betavine R&D web portal, responsible for releasing the Linux Mobile Connect driver for 3G USB dongles. Written in Python, and hosted on the portal.
  • Systems engineer for multiple projects within Vodafone over the years. Typically spanning multiple systems and nodes to deliver business use cases.
  • Started with Vodafone as development engineer for 3G Core Network Home Location Register (HLR) database. A real time VMS database system written in 'C'.
